Liu Yi Lin from the Trek - Marco Polo Cycling Team became the new Chinese Champion. With good team work it was Liu to take the title, Fuyu Li became 3rd and Han Feng and Xing Yan Dong finished 5th and 7th respectively.

With their performance they showed that the Trek - Marco Polo riders take advantage from their international program over Chinese riders that just race in their home country.

At the Chinese championships held earlier this week, Liu Yilin became the new Chinese champion in the road race. His final move was perfectly protected by the presence of his team mate Fuyu Li in the leading group. Fuyu (2007 member of Discovery Channel team) himself did get 3rd. The other two Trek-Marco Polo riders Han Feng and Xing Yan Dong finished 5th and 7th respectively, putting all 4 team members in the top 7. The second place in the championships went to Xu Gang, a former member of the Chinese continental Trek - Marco Polo squad.
Liu Yilin, Fuyu Li and Xing Yan Dong will remain on the team in 2009, two new Chinese riders, to be announced shortly.
