After three stages in the Tour de Qinghai Lake Fuyu and Jacques are ranked 16th and 17th in the general classification. In general the Trek Marco Polo Cycling Team is having some adaptation problems with the altitude and weather. Besides that, the competition is strong.

The first stage was surprisingly won by the Chinese Wu. Earlier in that stage, Jacques was able to jump with the second breakaway group. This resulted in a 18th ranking.

The second stage was dominated by the Slovenian team and was won by Kocjan.

During the third stage Fuyu and Jacques were again able to show their potential. Unfortunately the Iranian riders were too strong in the mountains. Mizbani Iranagh and Kazemi Sarai finished first and second after a long jump, while their teammate Mizourov was riding in the yellow jersey!

The next stages will take place around the lake, which should provide more chances for Leon van Bon. Although the windy and rainy weather will not make it easy at all.
